Hi, I’m Claire and I’m the founder of a pension company. A pension company that i’ve designed with nature restoration and social justice at its heart.
You see - It comes from within me. As I sit here writing this first article, I’m sitting in my favourite field - a wildflower field that holds a special place in my heart. A field I’d love to purchase one day and rewild . A field full of beauty and wonder. A field full of grasshoppers, ladybirds, blackbirds, swallows and skylarks. A field full of abundance. It is a beautiful place to be and I write this to share with you my journey. To share with you how a girl who loves to sit in a wildflower field ended up dedicating her mind to building a pension company.
Whatever business I was going to build and design, it would always have had nature and wellbeing at its core. This is how I operate. Every time I am sucked back into an old way of being or working, 9 - 5 at a desk, meetings after meetings, staring at a screen all day, I become overwhelmed, my anxiety spikes and I am restless. I have learnt that to flourish, I need to listen to my mind and body and that always leads me back outside.I am happiest with the wind sweeping through my hair, the feeling of soft sunshine on my shoulders and the grass between my toes. To be still, to appreciate, to open my senses to the world around me and to connect to the present moment, allows my creativity to flow naturally and my mind to feel at ease.
Designing a pension company has not been easy. I’ve learnt through collaboration, creativity, kindness and connection. We made it happen. I may be the founder but it is the team around me that have helped bring my vision to life. It is the community, strength and energy surrounding me from those that I work with that have made this a reality. I know the ripple effect of what we’re creating is going to be wonderful. The impact this will create for people and the planet will be vast.
I am a quiet leader though. I like my own space. I thrive in peace and calm. I connect with kindness and compassion. I am open, honest and I believe in building a company that works in balance with nature, people and the planet. A company that works for the health and wellbeing of all. From the inside out.
